The Aston Martin stand at the 65th Frankfurt International Motor Show.
Aston Martin enthusiasts took to the roads in July for the European Centenary Rally in celebration of 100 years of the iconic brand. Covering over 1,000 miles and spanning seven countries in five days, the tour began at the beautiful CastaDiva Resort and Spa on Lake Como in Italy and finished in London, passing through the scenic countryside of Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Luxemburg and France en route. Stops along the way included Schloss Weitenburg and the Nürburgring Test Centre in Germany and Château de Cocove in France. The drive involved a fleet of 100 Aston Martins across the full model range, including the One-77, limited-edition V12 Vantage Roadsters and Zagatos and the new Vanquish as well as heritage models, carrying 200 guests who, on arrival in London, joined the glittering Aston Martin black-tie party at Freemasons’ Hall. The following day, the cars from the rally joined the crowds at Kensington Gardens as part of the largest-ever gathering of Aston Martin cars. With the weather on their side, it made for a memorable event in the marque’s centenary year.
Guests enjoyed a driving and boating event around Lake Zurich and Lake Lucerne.
Guests enjoyed a combination of the finest driving and boating possible as they lived the life of a secret agent in Switzerland this summer. Taking place over two days amidst the beautiful scenery on and around Lake Zurich and Lake Lucerne, 100 Aston Martin customers enjoyed test drives in a range of the marque’s current models including the Rapide S, Vanquish, and V8 Vantage SP10, followed by a trip on a Sunseeker Portofino 40, the luxury yacht which combines the performance and enjoyment of a day boat, with the grandeur and space for overnight stays.
The Aston Martin Geneva dealership hosted a successful charity day in September for the children at L’Hôpital des Enfants. Having enjoyed a lunch by local pizzeria Bulldog Pizza & Grill, followed by Chocolaterie Stettler treats, the children then had the chance to experience a ride in one of the luxury cars at the dealership.
An Aston Martin Rapide S was displayed at the main entrance of the gaming fair Gamescom 2013, which broke records with some 340,000 visitors to the event in Cologne. Over the course of the week, Aston Martin also gave test drives in the car to social media experts from YouTube and elsewhere, enabling them to make videos for their followers around the world. Aston Martin has always been an essential part of Need for Speed—the world’s most successful video racing game.
Jaeger-LeCoultre recently unveiled its first boutique in Germany with the opening of a store in Frankfurt. The Aston Martin partner invited 80 guests to its opening night on 14 October, including the German actress Veronica Ferres and model Marie Nasemann. Jaeger-LeCoultre CEO Daniel Riedo cut the ribbon to officially open the store and welcomed guests, who enjoyed dinner at Windows 25, a spectacular location with a 360-degree view of the city skyline, surrounded by a collection of the brand’s most stylish timepieces.
Official dealer partner Aston Martin Stuttgart celebrated the opening of its new showroom on 31 October with over 200 guests and friends enjoying an exclusive evening. The gallery-like 300m2 showroom includes a coffee bar while the garage and service areas have state-of- the-art equipment. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place against a timeline of iconic Aston Martin models, including the current flagship model, the Vanquish. In attendance was Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez and Marcel Federmann, Aston Martin Stuttgart Dealer Principal.
Eighty customers attended the first Aston Martin track day at the Red Bull Ring in Austria (right) on 6 and 7 October. They were able to choose from an impressive line-up of cars, including two One-77s, a Zagato, a Vanquish, a V12 Vantage S, a V12 Vantage, a DB9 and a Vantage SP10.
